About Harry and Belle

 

Hi I’m Vanessa and the creator of Harry and Belle. 

I am Mum to Harry and Annabelle (clue to the name) and wife to Rob settled in Sussex. 

 

 

My background is completely removed from this and has been in the brick industry. Jewellery is a huge departure from that world and a change I was so ready for.

My first transition from the brick industry started onto a Interior Design Course for a couple of years  at Chelsea Arts and I quickly discovered as much as I love interiors and architecture it just wasn’t something I felt I could do and fit around family life.

So after giving photography and calligraphy a go I decided I’d be so keen to try my hand at Silver Smithing

I’d always felt that it was  difficult to buy good quality, well priced jewellery. I booked onto an individually adapted  Silver Smith Course with The Jewellery Workshop and loved it. It was so good to be able to learn organically and it suit my style. Thank you to The Jewellery Workshop for your expert tuition. A couple  of years later in 2019 Harry and Belle was created

I absolutely love the creative outlet this provides.  Each handmade piece has had so much love and care put into it and is sent with pride to its new home. I love how it doesn’t have that mass produced perfect appearance to it and if looked after will stand the test of time.

I always try and source my metals from good trusted and ethically sourced companies. My packaging is purchased with ecology in mind and I try and source as much plastic free materials as possible.

I am always mindful to ensure that my jewellery is timeless and classic but still affordable. I have in recent times enjoyed sourcing and curating a selection of pieces to add to the Harry and Belle collection that fit the classic aesthetic but keeping at a reachable price point for all.

Each piece is wrapped in tissue and  lovingly sent in a linen gift pouch or you can upgrade your purchase with a beautiful gift box.  Great for a gift to yourself or others. All of my packages are letter box friendly so will fit perfectly through the letter box making for an easy to send to gift. And who doesn't like to receive jewellery.

I am based in Hassocks from my workshop at home nestled in the South Downs. You will find me here with my trusted dog Kenny by my side listening to one of my favourite podcasts, usually Changes with Annie Macmanus or Diary of a CEO whilst making pieces and packing up orders. Day spent well.
